Game Tonight

Boise State and Oregon. Go Ducks. The pastoral staff around the office today is having a collective fashion meltdown with all the blue and orange. Green and yellow are so much nicer on the eyes. Although the school's resource officer threatened to handcuff me for wearing green. Oh, this town.

To tie this to Sunday's sermon - it was our last Sunday in Philippians (back into Genesis next week). What a great series, and a great challenge for us as we seek to be a Gospel-Centered Community. This week finished up chapter 4. Paul talks about the secret of contentment - that Christ strengthens Paul and His Church for what Christ asks of them. Christ is our strength and our contentment. I wanted to re-present that truth today, especially for you Bronco fans who will be disappointed by tonight's game. Christ is your strength, even when the Broncos lose. And I wanted to remind you that in every other game this year I am with you. Just not today.

Blessings,

Josh

Oh Josh, I am so proud of you posting this! I know you may have been dissapointed that O lost that night, but think of it this way: don't you find it true that as a teacher prepares to teach, he ends up learning more than his students.

I look forward to applying your lesson to my own heart one day, in the future, when the Broncos loose. It will happen, evenually.

Thank you.
